The alignment documents on the left menu bar are references for the alignment activities of the EveryTeacher project. Each alignment document is framed around the Five Core Propositions of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the common text of EveryTeacher. These alignments incorporate the standards of the various certification areas of the NBPTS, the standards for preparation of teachers in South Dakota (both professional education or pedagogy standards and basic program or content program standards), and the ten principles of the Interstate New Teachers Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC). In addition, the test specifications for Educational Testing Service's Praxis II Series in pedagogy and the applicable content area are correlated to the respective Core Propositions and the assessment certification topics for National Board Certification. Not included at this time are the South Dakota K-12 content standards and the standards of the national curricula associations, such as National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, NCTM.

If you see any misalignments or if you have suggestions about how to improve these documents, please contact Dr. Lynda Oldenkamp ( lyndao@ris.sdbor.edu ) at the South Dakota Board of Regents Office, 605-773-3455.
