MERLOT (Multimedia
Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) is
a free and open resource designed primarily for faculty
and students of higher education. MERLOT is a continually
growing catalog of online learning materials, peer reviews,
learning assignments, and user comments that are organized
by discipline. An international consortium of partners cooperate
to continually create, expand, and refine MERLOT. MERLOT's
goal is to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning
by increasing the quantity and quality of peer-reviewed
online learning materials.
Board of Regents
MERLOT membership fees and EveryTeacher funds are
introducing this distance education strategy to faculty
in higher education (public, private, and tribal) and K-12
teachers through a variety of hands-on workshops. Upon completion
of these workshops, instructors can access these resources
for their own classrooms and contribute technology infused
instructional strategies to the vast repository of MERLOT
resources.
